Siksika Irrigation Land Corporation was established in 1995 to
lease irrigated land to potential tenents. A Head lease agreement
was signed between the Queen in Right of Canada and SILC
for leasing of Agricultural land from the Siksika Nation for a 15
year period. The lease agreement gives SILC the authority to
lease land to potential tenents at fair market value for irrigated
and dry land within the Shouldice Irrigation Block - Storage One.
Also SILC has a lease agreement for the rental of the irrigation
system with Siksika Irrigation Equipment Corporation.
Siksika Irrigation Land Corporation leases 5200 acres of irrigated
land and 1060 acres of dry land corners.
