In 1995, Siksika Irrigation Equipment Corporation was
established to finance the purchase of irrigation systems
and associated infrastructure for lease to Siksika Irrigation
Land Corporation. This circumvented any Siksika Nation
obligtions.
Siksika Irrigation Equipment Corporation has a lease agreement
with SILC for leasing of 33 pivot systems and associated
infrastructure. Recently, SIEC entered into a three year contract
with a Siksika Nation member for machanical maintenance
services. The contract covers operation and maintenance of
the pivot system and associated infrastructure.
SIEC is leasing two hay storage buildings, twelve grain bins,
and assisted in financing a Quonset and mint production
facility.
